The new Canon 30D has 1/3 stop ISO changes as well as the extended 3200ISO setting. Here's a set of test shots so you can compare the noise levels. I used the Canon 50/1.4 lens at f/5.6, giving me reasonably long exposures (up to 2s).
Here's the 30D compared to the 300D.
