Camera Collection L-R: Canon S45 (sitting on home-made hard
case), Canon AE-1p, Kodak DC3200.
Most of the photos on my web sites are taken with the
Kodak DC3200, but that will change over time now that I have the
Canon S45. Reviews of those at Digital Photography Review are more informative: DC3200
and the S45. I
took the "collection" photo above with a borrowed Canon A40
. If someone wanted to buy me a camera I currently lust after the
Canon 1Ds ;-) I'm not really a Canon purist, it just seems to
happen that they make the best camera for what I want at the time.
My Canon AE-1 program on a mini-tripod.
Making the case for my S45. The outline cut out of
aluminium sheet. Folding the base tabs, then hammering slightly
rounded corners onto the long sides. Inside the finished case, showing
the spare battery that fits under one of the strips of foam. You can
also see the pop rivets that hold it together (they've been hammered
flat). The outside covering is 100mm wide cheap duct tape Ken got at
Reverse Garbage.
The camera in its case. The cord is shock cord
(elastic) so the camera hangs round my neck properly but I can stretch
it out to get photos without having to take it off (useful when
cycling). Size comparison, case and camera. A couple of shots of the
minipod. I think I'll sell it with the film cameras and buy a smaller
one (no bigger than the camera, say).
