The first community garden in the space at AddisonRoad (as far as I know) was the Community Food Forest started by Kelly Jones and others in 2001. Kelly's idea was for a community garden where all the plants were edible as well as the rest of the community garen ideas. She pushed the idea through the Addison Rd bureaucrazy and eventually got permission to start digging. The first load of straw from the p*lice stables arrived sometime in July I think.
Unfortunately my ability with names is awful, so I'm goign to guess a bit... the woman in the burgandy top is Rachel O'Mara, the indian guy is Keith and the woman in the white sun hat is Kelly Jones. The giant pit they dug now holds banana palms.
The garden has been left to its own devices at least twice since it started.
