Email Moz

The Greens and others were out this morning protesting against the opening of the cross city tunnel. The hoi polloi (that's the expensive equivalent of proletariat) were kept well back from the official opening by masses of security guards and plod. There were also protestors from the ALP and No-M4-East.

It's the surveillance society, just get used to it. Grave of the man killed during construction Lee Rhiannon and team arrive. Bag searches. Eventually security decided that people should be permitted to carry bottled water into the tunnel. Newly sold off private land... the walkers being herded about before they get to cheer the new premier Lee exchanging propaganda Other protesters. www.nom4east.org.au The footbridge was closed except to pold, supposedly to prevent people dropping things on the crowd. It's nice in a way - they don't worry about people dropping things on cars, but they go out of their way to protect pedestrians. On that note, "wanna buy a bridge?" Bystander was getting cranky about the blockage NO BICYCLES!!! A cyclist about to get escorted off after beng told that he's not allowed to ride on this public road just right now. Protesting against the opening of the cross city tunnel. Reporter from the ABC getting the goss on what locals think of the tunnel. The RTA had lackeys running aoround asking questions.
