Solstice Ride 2006

Email Moz

Organised by Andrew Dodds from Bike Sydney. Left at 1am, arrived at South head lighthouse about 5am via a scenic tour of the waterfront.

Meeting in Martin Place at 1am. The longest day starts early. People. Insurance by BNSW so there's a clipboard. The christmas tree in Martin Place. Love the pagan symbolism. It's more organised than most of the rides I go on, but not too organised. We ride! Circuitous route to Darling Harbour, here we're under Pyrmont Bridge. After a tour of the redeveloped wharves east of Darling harbour we ended up at the Opera House. Security were *thrilled* to see us. But we were allowed to ride around the Opera House. Cool animated light on the jacket. The wheels go round. Museum. No dangerous bicycles in the tunnel. At Mrs Macquarie's Chair. View to the landmarks. King's Cross. Pumping at 3am on a Thursday. King's Cross. Pumping at 3am on a Thursday. King's Cross. Pumping at 3am on a Thursday. Until finally we get onto the walking track to the lighthouse at South Head. Until finally we get onto the walking track to the lighthouse at South Head. Until finally we get onto the walking track to the lighthouse at South Head. Until finally we get onto the walking track to the lighthouse at South Head. Waiting for dawn. Eating. Waiting for dawn. Eating. Waiting for dawn. Eating. Waiting for dawn. Eating. Waiting for dawn. Eating. Waiting for dawn. Eating. Waiting for dawn. Eating. Waiting for dawn. Eating. Going to be a loverly day in Smogney. Nice beach in the inner harbour.
