The Nature Conservation Council (NSW) had the second of their pre-election debates on climate issues last night. Interesting to hear the politicians step a little outside the bounds of party policy for once and talk about their ideas. And get nailed on "what are you personally doing"... they all use compact fluorescents but being politicians drive a lot. Bob Debus has a rainwater tank though. And Lee Rhiannon has the lot... she's a Greens MP, what do you expect :) Panel was actually Dr Mark Diesendorf (UNSW), Cate Faehrmann (NCCNSW) and Julianne Richards (Climate Action Network). Questions from the audience were good, full range from "more coal mines" to transport (mass transit and bikes).
